“Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations” Deuteronomy ch7:9.

Unfaithfulness is one of the most outstanding sins in this modern world of ours. The phrase “my word is my bond” is rarely heard in conversation these days. In many pulpits today there are those who have been called of God to preach the truth but fail to be faithful to do that. Turning the spotlight onto ourselves in how many ways have we been unfaithful to the Lord our God? Woe is me, forgive me Lord.

Lifting our eyes from ruined man to heavenward we can behold one who is faithful, faithful in all things, faithful at all times. Yes it is the Lord our God.
Praise his Holy name. This attribute, this quality is essential to his being, without it He would not be God. For God to be unfaithful would be to act contrary to His very nature which is impossible. 2Timothy ch2:13 states “If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful; he cannot deny himself”. Faithfulness is one of the glorious perfections of his being. Therefore we can exclaim along with Jeremiah” His compassions fail not, they are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.” (Lam.3:22-23).

The scriptures abound with proofs of God’s faithfulness, promises made and those promises fulfilled.
Gen 3:15 the Messiah would be the seed of a woman fulfilled in Gal4:4, Lu2:7
Is 7:14 the Messiah born of a virgin fulfilled Matt 1:18, and Luke 1:26-35.
Ps110:4 the Messiah a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek Heb 6:20
Zech 11:12-13 the Messiah sold for thirty pieces of silver fulfilled Mt26:15

There are many many more scriptures proving God’s faithfulness like the Noahic covenant, the Abrahamic covenant, the Palestinian covenant, the Davidic covenant and the new covenant. Yes God is true. His Word of promise is sure. In all relations with his people God is faithful. He may be safely relied on.
As we read the scriptures we will see his Faithfulness expressed almost everywhere, why? Because I believe his people need to know that his Faithfulness is an essential part of his divine character because this will lead us to the placing of our confidence in Him. God has given us many “exceeding great and precious promises” (2 Peter 1:4). The question is are we willing to act in faith upon these promises because we know and we believe he will be faithful to fulfil them in our lives because He is Faithful.

God bless
