I wonder if you suffer with the problem of fiery darts like I do? You know, you wake up in the morning bright eyed and bushy tailed – glad to be alive. When suddenly out the blue a sinful thought enters your mind. It could be lust of the flesh, lust of the eye, or the pride of life. But it arrives and wants to sit there in your mind for you to dally with it until it blossoms and controls you.

What has gone wrong with me???? What do I do – confess it yes – but it won’t leave me alone how can I stop those dallying sinful or negative thoughts?

For me the answer is in the WORD OF GOD. Look at Philippians ch4 v8 – “finally brethren whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Look at Ephesians ch5 v19 “Speaking to yourselves in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs”. Singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord is to do with the renewing of the mind.

I find that if a dart comes I have 2 choices, dally with it, or ditch it. How do I ditch it? Many times I sing the first verse of Oh worship the king, or Immortal invisible God only wise, or I quote a scripture I know by heart, like 1 Corinthians chapter 10 vs 13.
You will find that this works if the dart persists, sing another verse like Power in the Blood. That will Douse the dart or quote some scriptures, do what it says in Philippians 4 vs 8.

There are other scriptures which advise the same. It is simple and effective, if we do what Paul advises, that is, the renewing of our mind.
God bless.
